Hi
We have recently put in double glazing on our windows. We know do not have enough window sill to put blinds in so the blinds have to go on the outside. The problem is the wall surrounding the window is not strong enough and the screws keep falling out. What can we do about this?
Thanks
Sharyn
Hi All,
We are looking to replace the top of our current bathroom cupboard with a updated laminated top. My wife is looking for a straight edged on this bench top, but has been advised by a supplier that either OH&S regulations or Building regulations dictate that you can only have a rolled edge top on a cupboad in a bathroom.
This seems somewhat strange to me looking at the cupboards that are out there.. Does anyone know of such a regulation in Victoria?
Thanks in advance,
- David
Hi there,
We are currently undergoing major renovations, and we are wanting to restore our painted red brick home from white back to the natural red brick, do you have any ideas for a safe and damage free way to do this?
Cheers, Chris.
Hello
I have a Caroma Monarch toilet suite but the seat has split in half and I cannot obtain a replacement since it is now out of production
The seat and lid are slightly rectangular in shape measuring approximately 38x40 cm
Does anybody know where please could I get a replacement or alternatively be able to have the seat repired
With many thanks in anticipation of your reply.

Dear Expert,
I have had compact fluorescent light bulbs for several years in most of the light fittings throughout the house. The issue I have is that in one room, the light emits periodic flashes despite being switched off. The light is on a two way switch, but I have the same fixture on a two way switch in the lounge room, and that CFL doesn’t flash. I followed the guidelines for which wattage is equivalent to the original incandescent bulbs, but having tried several different styles, I am at a loss as to which type to try. Is this a fault of the compact bulbs; could it be an incompatibility of the CFL with the light fixture (when we bought it I checked this out) or is some other issue involved?

Hi, just have a question can you use colourbond or some sort of steel for a retaining wall if you then go over it with timber decking to finish it off? I have seen them use timber sleepers and then put a treated pine decking over the top so i was wondering can my base be colourbond and then timber over the top?

Hi,
I have two 30x30 shower base tiles that have cracked.
I have since chipped these out and found what I believe to be a waterproof membrane underneath and have not been able to find a replacement for this, so I was looking at using a rubber glue compound.
I have used this to lay tiles in a family area successfully.
Is this the best option for a shower bases ?
Or does someone have better advise on how to replace these tiles.
Regards,
Eddie
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell whether it is better to paint over a rendering job or to mix an oxide colour into the render instead? Thanks Norbert
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone cansteer me in the right direction. We recently had a party at our place and one intoxicated person decided to pour some beer onto one of those citronella candles in the metal bucket, and this unfortunately caused a heap of smoke and it has now left a large smoke/burn like mark on our back verandah roof. I have already tried sugar soap on this to no avail. The roof is a colorbond/metal roof and I was wondering how I can wash this mark off if possible.
Thank you for your help.
